Surah Ikhlas English & Urdu Translation + Transliteration Verse by Verse
Verse 1
Arabic:
قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ
Transliteration:
Qul huwa Allahu ahad
English Translation:
Say: He is Allah, the One.
Urdu Translation:
کہو کہ وہ اللہ ایک ہے۔
Verse 2
Arabic:
اللَّهُ الصَّمَدُ
Transliteration:
Allahu as-samad
English Translation:
Allah, the Eternal Refuge.
Urdu Translation:
اللہ بے نیاز ہے (سب اس کے محتاج ہیں)۔
Verse 3
Arabic:
لَمْ يَلِدْ وَلَمْ يُولَدْ
Transliteration:
Lam yalid wa lam yoolad
English Translation:
He neither begets nor was He begotten.
Urdu Translation:
نہ اس نے کسی کو جنا اور نہ وہ کسی سے پیدا ہوا۔
Verse 4
Arabic:
وَلَمْ يَكُن لَّهُ كُفُوًا أَحَدٌ
Transliteration:
Wa lam yakun lahu kufuwan ahad
English Translation:
And there is none comparable to Him.
Urdu Translation:
اور کوئی بھی اس کا ہمسر نہیں۔
Meaning & Importance of Surah Al Ikhlas
Surah Al-Ikhlas defines Islamic monotheism in a crystal-clear manner. It negates all forms of polytheism, anthropomorphism, and associations with Allah. It is often referred to as being equal to one-third of the Quran in reward due to its powerful message. This surah teaches that:
Allah is completely independent and free from all needs.
He is not subject to human attributes, like having children or a lineage.
True belief in Allah requires pure sincerity and absolute Tawheed.
