Surah At-Tawbah
Surah At-Tawbah (سورة التوبة), meaning “The Repentance,” is the 9th chapter of the Holy Quran. It was revealed in Madinah and contains 129 verses across 16 rukus, located in Juz 10 and 11. It is the only Surah in the Quran that does not begin with Bismillah (In the name of Allah), symbolizing its stern tone against hypocrisy and falsehood.
This Surah is a declaration of disassociation from the disbelievers and treaty-breakers, especially the pagan Arabs who repeatedly violated peace pacts. It also addresses the behavior of Munafiqoon (hypocrites) within the Muslim community, exposing their deceit and warning against spiritual laziness.
