Surah Ash Shams
The Surah begins with a powerful sequence of eleven consecutive oaths, swearing by the sun, moon, day, night, sky, earth, and most significantly—the human soul. These oaths emphasize the natural balance and moral clarity placed in the universe and within mankind.
Surah Ash-Shams goes on to explain that Allah has inspired every soul with a sense of right and wrong—and that true success belongs to those who purify their souls, while failure awaits those who corrupt it.
The Surah then reminds us of the people of Thamud, who rejected their Prophet (Saleh عليه السلام), rebelled, and were destroyed as a result of their arrogance and injustice.
