Surah Anfal

Surah Al-Anfal (سورة الأنفال), meaning “The Spoils of War,” is the 8th chapter of the Holy Quran. It was revealed in Madinah and contains 75 verses and 10 rukus, located in Juz 9 and 10. This Surah primarily deals with the rules of warfare, spoils of war, and the moral and spiritual discipline of the Muslim army.

It derives its name from the Arabic word “Al-Anfal”, meaning “bounties” or “war gains”, which were discussed in the context of the Battle of Badr—the first and one of the most significant battles in Islamic history.
