Surah Al Waqiah

Surah Al-Waqi’ah opens with a description of the final hour, where mankind will be divided into three distinct groups:
The foremost (As-Sabiqoon) – those closest to Allah.
The people of the right hand (Ashab al-Yameen) – the righteous.
The people of the left hand (Ashab al-Shimaal) – the disbelievers.
The Surah describes in rich imagery the rewards awaiting the believers and the severe punishment for the disbelievers. It also reminds the reader of Allah’s power in creation, the origin of life, and the certainty of the resurrection.
