This Surah sternly condemns individuals who mock others, backbite, or spread slander, especially those who let materialism and greed for wealth blind them to the truth. They falsely believe that their wealth will grant them eternal security. But Allah warns them of destruction in “Al-Hutamah”—a crushing fire that will consume their very being.
