Surah Al Ghashiyah
The Surah opens with a rhetorical question:
“Has there reached you the report of the Overwhelming [event]?” (88:1)
It then describes the humiliation and exhaustion of the disbelievers in Hell, followed by the peace, comfort, and joy of the believers in Paradise. The verses remind mankind of the wonders of creation—the camels, the sky, the mountains, and the earth—as signs of Allah’s greatness and creative power.
The Surah ends by emphasizing the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ’s role as a warner, and that final accountability lies with Allah alone.
