Surah Al Fajr

The Surah opens with a series of oaths, including by the dawn, the ten nights (widely interpreted as the first ten nights of Dhul-Hijjah), and other signs of divine power.
It then references the fates of past nations—‘Ad, Thamud, and Pharaoh—who were destroyed due to arrogance, oppression, and rebellion against Allah.
The Surah critiques people who only recognize Allah during ease, but lose gratitude or complain during trials. It closes with a touching address to the righteous soul, inviting it to return to its Lord with peace and satisfaction, and to enter Paradise.
