Surah Al Buruj Inshiqaq

Surah Al-Buruj opens with an oath:
“By the sky containing great stars…” (85:1)
It then recounts the story of the People of the Ditch (Ashab al-Ukhdood)—a group of believers who were burned alive for their faith. Allah praises their endurance and condemns the oppressors, assuring that divine justice will prevail.
The Surah affirms that Allah is ever-watchful, powerful, and completely in control, drawing attention to the fate of past tyrants like Pharaoh and Thamud as proof of the consequences of arrogance and disbelief.
