Surah Ad Dahr
Surah Ad-Dahr opens with a powerful reflection:
“Has there [not] come upon man a period of time when he was not a thing [even] mentioned?” (76:1)
It then describes how Allah created man from a drop of fluid, gave him hearing and sight, and guided him to the path of gratitude or denial. The Surah provides a vivid picture of Jannah (Paradise) as a reward for those who fulfill their vows, feed the needy, and fear the Day of Judgment.
It also praises the Ahl al-Bayt (Family of the Prophet ﷺ), who selflessly fed others while seeking only Allah’s pleasure. The Surah concludes by emphasizing the Quran as a reminder, encouraging patience, remembrance of Allah, and complete reliance on Him.
